Girl ends life after being harassed online

An 18-year-old girl studying in a polytechnic college in Punjab's Jalandhar was found hanging in her hostel room on Tuesday night after two youth posted obscene comments about her on a social networking site. 

Second year diploma student Raksha Sharma left behind a suicide note blaming Deepak Saini and Lovepreet Singh for pushing her to death.

Deepak and Lovepreet graduated from the same polytechnic this year. Raksha and Lovepreet were friends. For a while though their friendship had strained. After Raksha stopped talking to Lovepreet, he flooded her cellphone with offensive text messages threatening to throw acid on her. 

On Tuesday, Lovepreet and Deepak posted an obscene message about her on the social network site.

Boy held for posting slanderous message about teachers

A class XII boy student in Madurai has been arrested for allegedly posting photographs of two women teachers with some slanderous comment on a social networking site.

The 18-year old boy had been pulled up by the teachers after they saw him chatting with a girl student in the school campus during working hours.

Angered by this, the student posted the photos of the teachers with allegedly calumnious messages on the networking site. He had also provided their e-mail IDs in that post...........

ट्रेंड माइक्रो ने बताया कि यह वॉयरस अभी फेसबुक जैसी सोशल नेटवर्किंग वेबसाइटों की इंस्टेंट मैसेजिंग एप्लीकेशन के जरिए फैल रहा है। यह एक लिंक के रूप में आता है और क्लिक करते ही अपनी कॉपी डाउनलोड कर लेता है। एंटी वॉयरस को निष्क्रिय करते ही यह कंप्यूटर में अपने आप अन्य नुकसानदेह सॉफ्टवेयर डाऊनलोड कर लेता है। यही नहीं यह उन एप्लीकेशन की फाइलों को भी डिलीट कर देता है जिन्हें इसने निष्क्रिय किया होता है। इस वॉयरस के जरिए इंटरनेट पर आपको कंप्यूटर का दुरुपयोग किया जा सकता है और कंप्यूटर में सेव की गई निजी जानकारियों को भी चुराया जा सकता है............

Mischief monger puts doc number on porn site

Since January this year, a Gurgaon-based orthopedic surgeon's phone hasn't stopped ringing. And the reason is not distress calls by patients but customers of a porn website. On an average, Dr Subhash Yadav, a resident of Sector 14, gets 50 calls a day between 10pm and 5am from people in India and other countries.

The orthopedic surgeon started receiving the calls on January 9. He did not understand why people were calling him and sending him messages. After several such calls, he got annoyed and threatened a caller with police action. It was that caller who told him that his number had been posted on a porn website by the name of one Reena.

"Every night, after 10.30pm, my phone starts ringing and it only ends at 5am in the morning. Being a doctor, I cannot ignore even a single call as it could be a patient. I had gone crazy answering so many calls and explaining there is no Reena on this number. Someone had posted my number on the website. I even get calls from Hong Kong, China, Malaysia and Singapore..................."
